Employment Law and Human Resources Services Home Services Training Articles & Links News Testimonials Contact Us Elizabeth Scholes Employment Law and HR Services specialises in offering employment advice and services to charitable and voluntary organisations, and to small and medium sized businesses. We promise to get to know your organisation or business and to provide high quality and constructive advice, on time, and on a personal basis, to help you to avoid facing a costly employment tribunal claim. Obtaining the support you need now will help you to avoid facing escalating, costly disputes and legal claims later. What makes us different? Well, Elizabeth Scholes combines her employment legal skills, Third and Public Sector experience, and calm and sensitive approach, to achieve effective solutions for your organisation. We can visit your workplace for face to face meetings if required, or provide advice over the telephone or by email. While most of our work is in the Midlands area, we also work further afield. Advice and support can be given on a one off basis on a particular issue; regularly over the course of a dispute; on a retainer basis at a reduced, regular cost; or by ad hoc telephone calls or e-mails, as and when you need help. We also offer a telephone and e-mail helpline for a reduced fixed monthly fee, spreading the cost of the service, and providing timely advice as and when you need it. Please contact us for further details of how this can work for your organisation. Established in 2009, Elizabeth Scholes Employment Law and HR Services specialises in offering employment advice and services to charitable and voluntary organisations, and to small and medium sized businesses. Elizabeth Scholes set up the organisation, after long experience in the Charity and Voluntary Sector as a solicitor, trustee and volunteer, because she saw a clear need for quality employment law and HR support delivered with a good understanding of the specific needs of the Third Sector. We meet this need by delivering employment law and HR support on a personal basis, with a quick response time, and with a good understanding of your particular organisation. Small and medium sized businesses share many of the same employment and HR needs as Third Sector organisations. Small and medium sized employers in both the Business and Third Sectors face similar challenges without the resources of a large organisation, and the same principles apply regarding good service delivery. Elizabeth Scholes has commercial and public sector experience, and provides quality employment and HR support to businesses. Elizabeth Scholes provides the employment law and HR advice personally, so you will have consistency of support from an expert who will get to know your organisation. However, we also provide additional support from other specialist consultants, when required. Third Sector organisations and small and medium sized businesses too often face employment tribunals because they lack good employment law and HR advice and, though well intentioned, fail to comply with the web of employment law regulations and procedures. With our support, you can carry out your HR work efficiently, in compliance with the law and achieving the best results for your organisation, and can reduce the risk of facing costly tribunal claims. Following an eleven year career in the Foreign Office as a Diplomatic Officer, Elizabeth Scholes trained as an employment solicitor in Birmingham, in the large corporate law firm, Wragge & Co. She later decided to specialise in the Third Sector, and moved to head the Employment Team of Sarah Hayes Solicitors, dedicated Third Sector lawyers. In 2009, Elizabeth set up Elizabeth Scholes Employment Law and HR Services, where she specialises in offering employment advice and services to charitable and voluntary organisations, and small and medium sized businesses. As well as her legal, HR and Public Sector skills, Elizabeth has a wealth of hands on management experience from throughout her career, including in her last diplomatic posting in Tel Aviv, where she headed the political department of the British Embassy and managed a team of staff. Elizabeth also has valuable practical experience of the Third Sector from several years as trustee of two major Birmingham charities, being a School Governor, her time at Sarah Hayes Solicitors, and from volunteering for many different charitable organisations over the years. So in providing employment advice and training, Elizabeth combines her comprehensive legal knowledge with practical management expertise, and long experience of the Third and Public Sectors.
